And so it Begins................

By way of introduction to this blog, we are the "migrating Byrds". We wander the country in our 38' fifth wheel which we call home.

This Big Adventure began about 5 years ago upon our retirement from the working world, a day I thought would never arrive. Then within a blink of an eye it was "R" day and we were free from the 9 to 5 grind. We had sort of planned for retirement in that we had a vague idea of what we wanted to do, but had not given a lot of thought to how to make it happen. You'll note a recurring theme throughout the blog, if we wish it - it will be so!

Workampers - a term loosely applied to folks who live in their selected mode of transportation and or housing; work in a campground, RV resort, local job, National park, etc. etc. etc. (Also known as camp hosts). Basically we're "normal" people with a wanderlust for new places, people, and experiences.

So how does one find a workamper job? We began by subscribing to an online site where you can post a resume, search for workamper jobs, connect with other workampers via forums, and glean all kinds of information related to the lifestyle.

We posted our resume and sat back waiting for the phone to ring. And So It Begins............
